No line outside of my polling place at 11am - but room was full and short line inside. Mostly college students (Iowa State University) - this polling place in the past has been mostly the "gray hair group". but poll worker told me it has been a heavy turnout all morning, cross section of ages and genders but a lot more college students than in past elections.

(3,923 posts)College students understand Roevember and the existential danger to LBGTQ+ and the educated if the MAGA win. Iowa even close means it is game over man for the MAGA wing

(89,294 posts)and STILL trying to shake things up - in a BAD WAY. I can't figure it any other way. SURELY she's got to understand that there's no way she herself can win. So then, one is immediately led to wonder what she's fucking things up FOR, and in WHOSE favor. She can't be so out-to-lunch that she thinks she actually has a chance.
I just still yearn to know: WHEN are we finally done with HER???

(8,297 posts)I typically am PRO Democracy, run if you want, the people will speak. But this is not the time for these types of games. Appalling that every third party out there has not rejected running and not endorsed Kamala. You don't love her policies? Fine, save Democracy and we can fight about that afterwards.

(3,664 posts)I voted a couple of weeks ago, so I don't know what the polling places look like around here.

(3,923 posts)Steady line all day on a Thursday. Workers said it stretched to the door or just outside (20-30 deep) all day on the day I voted. They said it had been that way basically the whole first week if voting solid stream in blue Johnson county. Which is good for flipping the house.

(52,794 posts)Council Bluffs. Very busy here.
There was a 30 minute line at 7 am. It let up briefly at 10ish. Now about 10 people on line again.
Equal cross section D, R, & indies.
fingers crossed.
