I plan to stay up until the race is called or as long as I can, whichever comes first. I've taken tomorrow off work to sleep in.
Also, I plan on drinking to calm my nerves. What are your plans?

(4,704 posts)In 2016 I had to take my husband to cardiac rehab the next morning. Lots of trumpers there. The whole experience was painful. I will never again put myself in that situation.

(17,614 posts)Then stay up till 2 or so depending on results.
Maybe check a couple of times after that. My cats normally demand 4am scritches, so that is a good checkpoint.
It doesnt need my constant attention.

(7,605 posts)I usually wake up several times a night so I can always tune in later if I want to. Retired with no plans util tomorrow afternoon so can be flexible. It would be a lie to say 2016 has me a little edgy.

(32,546 posts)I dont do well at these things. My husband would have gone with me, but with him gone now, itll be my first neighborhood event without him, so am nervous. Even if I do go, Ill be home to either cheer widely, or be bawling and swearing to wake the neighbors NOT at the election party. Im gonna try and stay up as long as I can.

(51,714 posts)Tonight I'm floor supervisor in a newspaper assembly facility.
The declared deadline for one of my papers is 11 pm, and the other one has a declared midnight deadline. I SERIOUSLY don't expect to see the first one until midnight and the other until about 1 am. It'll take about half an hour to put together the first one, and probably an hour and a half for the second. Once that's done we're looking at around half an hour to clean up the place, I'll drive home and eat...by the time I'm mellowed out enough to sleep the sun will be coming up.

(17,071 posts)I won't be able to watch tv at work. There won't be time for any other media either. I won't hear anything until I get in my car to drive home, about 2 or 3 PM. Hope the race will be called for Kamala by then, but I'm not counting on it.

(2,591 posts)And I want to make it until Ali Velshi comes on MSNBC, which is usually around midnight on election night.
Want to hear the earlier MSNBC panel of course.
And I hope we also get to hear from Tim Walz tonight. I heard him on YouTube in Harrisburg PA today at the Capitol Diner. He said he stayed up til midnight after watching the voting in "Dixville Gulch" NH. I'm sure he knows it's Dixville Notch, but it was funny as hell.
