We've been living in a fantasy world.

All the happy talk about how Trump was failing and had poorly attended events and was cratering was nonsense. It didn't matter. Contrary to the fiction of a 47%ceiling for him, we're most likely the minority now.

We were so sure the women of America would bury him him for taking away their reproductive rights but apparently plenty are happy to let Daddy make the important decisions for them so that they didn't need to worry their pretty little heads about such matters.

That their chosen candidate, Donald John Trump, was a lying con man, adjudicated rapist and felon with fascist tendencies only interested in himself didn't matter. At least he wasn't (gasp) a Democrat and that was all that really mattered in the long run apparently.

There is no Blue Wall, there's just the one that separates us from Mexico that will now be added onto. All the Jan 6th insurrectionists will be pardoned and set free to help track down libruls, and brown people for Trump to prosecute and all charges against Trump himself will now be dropped.

It's the end of democracy in America. Glad I'm old.

to either mitigate climate change or
to help ever increasing disaster victims
recover.

This country will turn into a hellscape of
unimaginable proportions.

And the prospect of war increases as well,
both against people who live here, and other
countries as well.

who is just out of college, just beginning. When I was her age I was engaged in politics and planning to change the world. How do you even think about that as a new autacracy sets in? How do you choose your destiny?

Then they started talking about about how Trump was going down and his crowds were bare and all the women and Latinos coming out for Harris. So in the last few days, I started to believe all the happy talk. Damn them. Did they do this on purpose to make people think they were “winners” or were they that naive?

And while I haven’t paid that much attention to his speeches, he’s certainly more acute.

The question is how well would he govern? Would he be as skillful as Gerry Ford or Richard Nixon, or would he be another Dan Quayle?
