Use his SCOTUS-granted king-like powers and just locked up Trump, the conservative Justices, a good portion of the Republican House and Senate, Elon Musk, etc., etc.
If we're going to live under a dictatorship, I'd prefer a more benevolent one.
It just isn't in Biden's nature to go that far, however. 😢

(790 posts)First, I know it's not going to happen.
Second, there's no work-with-in-the-system solution for the crisis we're in.
"GOTV" isn't going to mean a damned thing in four years.
Even if somehow elections still work four years from now, the damage over the next four year under Trump is incalculable. Maybe the country as a whole can eventually recover, but many individual lives will be irreversibly destroyed.
I'm merely wishing for the lesser of two evils.

(790 posts)We will have a dictator no matter what. I feel no shame at all in wishing for the lesser of two evils. We will not good-example our way out of this mess. I do not personally want to suffer greatly due to the stupidity, hate, and ignorance of others, even a majority of others.
And while, as an individual, it might be fine to be as honorable as you can in defeat, there are too many people who will suffer irreparable harm under Trump, including lives of harassment and hiding, torture, imprisonment, and even death (from loss of health care to cops turned into unaccountable thugs) for there to be any nobility in letting all that harm play out while feeling smugly honorable about taking some supposed "high road".
