Here's a scary potential outcome from Trump's election.

If the Trump quits Ukraine and/or Nato, there's incentive for Ukraine and the other European countries to build their own nuclear weapons. Taiwan may also, fearing lost support from the US.

Sweet dreams.

The global autocratic bloc is waging war against the western democracies.
They hope to change the world order and be the global superpower.

The arms race is ramping up as we speak.
Weakening the US is a part of that war and has been very successful.
Trump will align away from the western democracies to the autocratic bloc.

certainly they will have to bolster their own defense budgets if we actually do pull out.

I believe Congress passed some laws that make it harder to pull our of NATO than just on the presiden's word, but trump will certainly curtail our involvement and could probably get what he wants with a complicit congress/Senate.
