Telling me in his calm manner that anything he does to hurt the American people like exploding inflation, job losses, grocery and gas shortages, seeing their work schedules change, stagnant wages, they will revolt. Even the ones who voted for him. So the attention will be on him and NOT in a good way.

We will also see how often he takes AF1 down to MaL for the weekends like he did the first time. He will whine because he can't play golf on the weekends.

One question I want to think about related to the immediate future: Is there something that would be worthwhile lobbying the lame duck Senate to do?

And, in the longer view. I live in Washington State. What reforms should we focused on here to help make the state a model of what a progressive state can accomplish for it's people -- all it's people, red and blue. Is there some healing or outreach needed here? Are there "red county" issues we are overlooking or undervaluing? Can solutions be found?

I don't know. Just some random thoughts about how to stay sane and engaged. I am physically incapable of watching media coverage of DT. I need some sort of strategy to somehow stay plugged in enough to know what's up with the resistance without making myself ill. I may need to find battles closer to home.

...and that the solution was to turn back to the worst president in our nation's history will be the same Republican lies and propaganda that will explain away all the inevitable terribleness that is to come with another Trump administration.

I don't know what the answer is to this. The sad fact is a plurality -- if not a majority -- of voters are more inclined to believe lies from the biggest liars that exist as opposed to objective truth. Like that one idiot that said she voted for Donald Trump because he wouldn't ban abortion -- how do you combat that level of ignorance? How?

The Left has no viable infrastructure in place large enough, or enough $$$, to effectively combat these things on a mass scale. The Authoritarian Billionaires have been setting up this wicked scenario since the 1960's; when President Johnson and his Great Society efforts to end discrimination and promote equality among the races and sexes were started.

We on the Left need to get our heads out of each others posteriors and face the fact that we have been outmaneuvered for over 60 years.

Indeed, we have lost our Democracy. It will be generations, and a lot of good people's blood, before we can resurrect it.

You want to complain about the price of gas going up 10 cents, you have no one else to blame.

You wanna complain about the price of eggs going up a dollar? You have no one else to blame.

Everything about the post pandemic economy that they’ve been nagging and complaining about that they believe will be fixed with Trump, if things get worse from here, they have no one else to blame.

I know one thing! They can’t blame Biden anymore.

Trump has weird charisma, firing up crowds and all, and is not camera shy at all. Many also find his childish humor funny. Mastriano and Robinson don't have charisma or humor.

Kari Lake matches his charisma, but she's not as funny to them (slightly though, when she talks about BDE). That's why she "almost" wins every time, unlike those two stuffed shirts that you mentioned.

In that respect, he's similar to Reagan. His followers come for the show. They didn't show up as much recently because his act got stale. I do have say the joke about the last mic he tried to kill was Pence was pretty funny and a clever pun on the pronunciation of word "mic". I read in a recent article that his fans don't believe most of what he says. Trump has a knack for reading a room, too. An amateur psychologist might say this was how he survived a domineering father.

I'd bet that if Biden had offered him a full pardon for crimes past, present and future plus his own new TV show in return for dropping out and never running for elected office again, Trump would've jumped on it.

If you don't pay taxes, the IRS will find ways to get it, plus hefty interest and fines.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Take awhile to process your feelings and then coldly, carefully, begin to plan ways to take care of yourself and your loved ones. Don't make the mistake of lashing out in ways that hurt you.

I'm very sincere about this. More than half the nation's voters just proved themselves to be babies who will believe any feel-good fantasy. Be smarter than them. It really shouldn't be that difficult cause they're pretty dumb, obviously.
