Theres only one reasonable explanation why our vote totals went down so much. While Trump played to his base, we did just the opposite. We went after Republicans instead of focusing on our base. Regardless of reports of high enthusiasm, our voters didnt show up. There were many women who were extra enthusiastic, but a lot of Democrats didnt bother to vote. Running around the country with Liz Cheney didnt sit well with many liberals. The high water mark of the elections was the debate where Kamala eviserated Trump. Day by day her advantage slipped away.

(2,533 posts)Those thieves played with votes. I refuse to believe Dems are that dense not to vote. Dems are smart people and know what is at stake. What Dem would want to look at his ugly fat fucking orange face for the next few years?
Those thieves fucked with votes and suppressed them.

(13,192 posts)We saw in 2016 that celebrity appearances did not help Clinton win. I dont know that they hurt Harris, but did they help? The problem I see with celebrities is a double-edged sword. They draw attention to the campaign, but they also help portray the Democrats as elitists, which is a common accusation by Republicans and their voters.
One of the takeaways so far is that too many working class voters have turned against Democrats. If this is true, then celebrities on the campaign trail may add to this perception.

She lacked the one essential component of the presidency. A penis.
It is easy to second guess after a loss. Maybe it is just as many have said, nothing could have countered the blood thirst and spectacle Trump provides and Americans crave. Supporters stayed in their own echo chamber and if they came out, didn't believe anything because it is all "fake news". If anyone not in that sphere wasn't motivated by just seeing Trump in the media and the details of Project 2025, and didn't bother to vote, what one thing would change that? If you are not motivated by saving democracy and are blasé about losing rights, no strategy on earth is going to alter that. We have an ignorant and entitled populace, and both sides are in for a world of hurt. Unfortunately that applies to all of us.

(313 posts)Having the other side join you should be a HUGE advantage. It's never happened like that before. Why would it be a negative to have an iconic GOP family like the Cheney's swallow their pride and say "Hey, the Democrats are right. Trump is scum. Don't vote for Trump."

a stereotype of how big city blue states think middle America is. We are not all from the Hatfield and
McCoy family. Sheriff Addy Taylor was a nice guy and a hell of a Sheriff in Mayberry but not one you would want
to be president.
