"There isn't enough alcohol in the world to get through this." That was said

to me on the night that ray-gun was declared the winner of the 1980 election, as I looked at the brand new bottle of the French apertiv that I had purchased earlier that day. My former occasionally was quite perceptive.

I was thinking about that night as I was explaining to a friend earlier this morning that I had not yet drunk anything but coffee in this dawning of a new age of horror. The bottle of good bubbly will remain chilling in the refrigerator. Surely SOME occasion might yet arise which will warrant it!!!??? Not sure which bottle will meet the requirements of this nightmare, so I wiill wait.

In the meantime, I am fashioning a black mourning band to wear, at least until the roundup for the showers. I doubt many people will understand its significance, but that matters not. I wish I still had the Victorian mourning band that I wore for most of ray-gun's first term, but, alas, it somehow disappeared years ago.

NEVERTHELESS, SHE PERSISTED!!!

in all of Europe. There are many stories of remarkable courage under terribly oppressive circumstances. They even managed to blow up a factory that produced heavy water so the Nazis couldn't use it to develop an atomic bomb. Check out this excellent series: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heavy_Water_War

earrings that I made in 2016. I wore them for 4 years. I did it as a form of protest and everyone loved (mostly total strangers) them. Well, Covid happened and the straps on the masks got tangled in my earrings so I stopped wearing them. About 9 months ago I put them on and the safety pin came off so I made a whole new pair, the feedback was even better than the original pair. Nurses as doctor's offices, strangers at the stores, etc always like them and have taken pictures of them.

After I voted I came home and decided not to put them away (just in case the American morons won the election). A little voice inside me spoke with reason and I listened. I need to try to listen to my gut instincts and psychic abilities more since they are always spot on.

So, my earrings will continue to be a part of my out of the house wardrobe until someone tries to kill tRump and they succeed this time...you never know. I remain hopeful.

Someone on DU helped me to put the pictures from my tablet of the 1st earrings in 2017. My new ones could be posted or shared with you I guess, somehow. Tech and I are not friends.

Would this work...
Maybe I can take the picture of them from my tablet and share the image or whatever onto your DU mail account and you can get them that way? If you know how to post images maybe you could do that on this thread too.

The black mourning band is brilliant!

I am going to start wearing my "Nevertheless..." pin again.

I have several pieces of Harris/Walz merch that I won't be wearing anywhere but to sleep at the moment. I still may venture out in my Shirley Chisholm tee though.

The only exception being my friendship bracelets.

Which I'm thinking about retooling because I don't like the way the elastic fits. It's the clay Harris/ Walz beads I was interested in primarily any way.

The black mourning band is a fabulous idea!

You're so smart, niyad!

Since I wear mostly black all the time anyway, and have for decades, that would not make the point with reference to me.

I was getting a lot of compliments on my 'Childless Cat Ladies Vote" tote bag. Think I am going to do a new one. . ."Put The RAGE Back In Suffrage", done in, of course, purple, gold, and white, with sunflowers. Saw that line on merchandise at the "SUFFS" gift shop, which I discovered online while looking for "Great American Bitch" pieces (going to make that into a t-shirt, and add, "FAFO".

It will be interesting to see what kind of reactions I might get.
