How was voter turnout in your area?

The precinct I worked Tuesday had 60% turnout for early voting. We had 50 voters waiting at 6:00 am and it was steady ALL day. At 8:00 pm we had three people in line so they got to vote. Our commissioner in charge said it was the highest voter turnout ever. So many first time voters (we announce and cheer all first timers which really kept our energy up.). Although it wasn’t the results we wanted, I am glad I was part of this historic election.

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Long lines at the polls during Tuesday’s general election had a lot of people talking about high voter turnout. But despite those lines, voter turnout was actually down from the previous two presidential elections.

According to data from the Mobile County Probate Court, this year’s turnout averaged 54%, down from 58% in 2020 and 64% in 2016. Baldwin County saw 58.6% of voters participate. That was still down from 62% in 2020 and 65% in 2016.
