I'm sure this is a coincidence...

Just returned from the grocery store and the cat food I buy is three cents cheaper this week and prices change on Thursday. It had been raised to $0.88 back during the pandemic and has been that price for nearly four years(Wal-Mart and Publix).

Even though much of the price increases were not warranted, most people don't believe the companies will lower them significantly(if at all) because people didn't stop buying sodas and chips at those prices. The demand is still there so there would be no motivation for lowering prices. Others have opined that you'd see price drops the second a (R) won given that the increases were "spiteful" in the first place and meant to affect working folks' voting habits.

Check the prices when you go to the store this week. This is going to be interesting.

I can often get 16.9 oz six packs for $2.50 and never more than $3.00.

During the Dem admin up the prices for retail goods so it hurts consumers. Price gouging during Dem admins - thus causing runaway inflation - will usher in ReThugs in the next election. Monolistic producers and big box retailers can pave the way with higher prices- for ReThugs winning elections. Blame all the higher prices (price gouging) on the Dems.

And everything I bought was within $.50 of costing $5. Every item, if not more. Everything keeps going up here, still. Gas dropped quite a bit though. Gotta be able to buy gas to drive 40+ miles to get those pricey groceries you know.

Then if the republicans get in they lower them. The CEOs like it when republicans are in because they cause inflation which is maximum profits. They want republicans in office.
