Republicans and RW media pulled a neat little curtain over Trump and his lemmings fell for it.
Republicans and the right-wing media did their level best to bury all the bad news about Trump. Everything bad was low-level news to them and front page to everyone else. That's what really helped him. We all saw it but didn't think it would make that much of a difference. Well, it did. Don't get mad at the NY Times and WashPost. They reported all his court cases and problems with regularity and detail. They didn't normalize it. (Remember, though, that opinion pieces aren't news stories. It's OPINION.) The slimey slimes like Hannity, Waters and Inghaham at Fox and RW media, as well as the Republicans, buried it as much as they could or just lied about it. And the lemmings ate that propaganda up. And the Republicans, when they should have impeached him, didn't. It seems like almost everything went their way.
Just remember ... the enemy is on your right, not on your left.
