Thinking about what we need to do to change the disinformation problem and thinking we need to flood these people with truth propaganda. I was looking at largest TV media companies and i came across this.
Gray is one of three television companies, along with Sinclair broadcasting and Nexstar Media Group, that have been purchasing stations all over the country over the past 25 years.
All of these outlets produce right leaning content and for years. Republicans have taken over the airwaves. We have to compete in this space.

(3,767 posts)On local news. A short blurb about each one. But it was a tfg sane moment or at least he didnt sound like an idiot. No mention of his convictions, lawsuits, giving the mic stand a blow job, sharks/batteries, or any of the other idiotic things he said.

(12,412 posts)the 3 late night shows who have been blasting trump. I have a hard time blaming media for this, excepting FOX, white wing podcasters, etc.

(252,330 posts)The only time I tune in now is when I watch Stephen Colbert. And I've noticed that the news anchor no longer says "stay tuned for Stephen Colbert."

(2,983 posts)There are left leaning outlets/personalities out there. How has it helped us?
One of the most infuriating things about the cult is they believe what they want to believe, not necessary what reality is.

(785 posts)People younger than 45 or so, dont watch tv or listen to radio. Im older than that, and I dont either. I watch my shows on Hulu and Discovery+ mostly, with Netflix on ocassion. The only live broadcasts I watch are sports.
People get their news and weather online, when they want it, not at 5 PM, 6 PM or 10 PM
unless youre my elderly parents (74 and 77 yo). Our local NBC was kicked off DirecTV for several months. Fine. Life went on.
While not popular to admit here, Ive increasingly come to rely on X for my news. Election night I learned what was happening much quicker than I did as I flipped channels around the legacy networks.
Podcasts are the recent past, present and future. There are many informative and interesting progressive podcasters that I enjoy. But, none have gone supernova, yet. Ive subscribed to so many now that I cant keep up. I listen mostly as Im driving.
The last three cars Ive bought all had Apple Carplay. I get in the car, and it picks up where I left off with my last podcast. All my fav podcasts update automatically when a new one comes out. Its a great format! Democrats need to foster new progressive podcasts. We need a Joe Rogan or a Dan Bongino.
I was glad to see Harris go on a couple podcasts, although none were part of my portfolio. But, I wasnt part of their target audience.
Hopefully, by 2028, we have a podcast strategy.

That kind of brain washing is powerful.
All the people I was with (yes mostly republicans) talked about in Mich was the "immigrant" problem, the cost of eggs etc, parroting what was said on Faux...
Very little to no talk on abortion or tfg's failing memory, legal problems etc..Uff
