I keep having the thought "I hope he dies." I tell myself I really don't wish him dead. I know that Vance is as bad or worse. But the thought keeps coming up.
I think what is driving it is that seeing his face makes me sick to my stomach. Actually. Seriously.
I don't vomit when I see Vance. Angry? Disgusted? Sure. But nausea? No. At least not yet.
But almost 10 years of conditioning have left me unable to see that man's face without becoming physically ill and it will be f-ing hard to avoid. Then the thought comes back. I hope he dies soon. If only he would die.

(93,616 posts)at the very least he will be held to a higher standard. He is boring also so the idiots that like chaos and entertainment might just stop paying attention and voting.

(13,375 posts)Old conditioning. You're right though. The world would be better without him.
I just want a natural death for the man. No f-ing martyrdom.
I have the same issue.

(113,971 posts)democracy--how else can one feel about him?
But then, no matter how it was to happen, his rabid fans would be beyond unbearable in their martyrdom of him. Hearing his cult deify him 24/7 with only a few more sane clips of him day in and day out would make me want to go find a grizzly bear to hibernate with.

The device slips from his tiny hands, falling into the toilet. He stands up, turns around, trips over the trousers around his ankles, hits his head on the rim, then drowns in his own fetid shit.

(9,100 posts)Vance is far from being a popular pick as VP among many of the MAGAts, not least (and this is no doubt the least objectionable thing about him for most of us) because his wife is not white and he's been photographed sporting a bindi.
But yeah, I'd been looking forward to not hearing that grating drawl of Trump's on a regular basis.

A funeral is all that will ever take care of him anyway.
Might as well be sooner than later.

(17,520 posts)My gloomy expectation: When trump overreaches into OTT horrors, OR when the economy has been burned to the ground, Vance will become president. He will lead (follow the Austerity Plan playbook/Project 2025) out of the ruins into an 8 year presidency.
If they wait 2 years for the changeover to happen, he will be president for 10 years.
If Trump dies soon, maybe we get Vance for 8 years instead of 10.

p.s. and yes I really really do mean I want him to die ASAP - please hurry the fuck up!

(8,103 posts)This is quite a test. For me, I started praying that his hair would fall out. It worked a bit. But then, I started praying that his d*ck would fall off. I have to mentally apologize for that, but then, I do it again. Guess I'm praying he doesn't get any, because he doesn't deserve any.
At first, I would not allow myself to wish for anyone's death. Then, I slipped a bit and it kind of spilled into my prayers. I had to apologize for that. But, now there are so many worthy potential death subjects, that I have to just quit outright, because I don't want to be that sort of person. There are too many of them. I have decided that I am supposed to learn some lesson that isn't really sinking in.
So, I am taking up raised garden bed farming. I'll get the beds ready this winter, and in the Spring I'll plant seeds. I'm gonna do a lot of it on J6. Whatever fits in that season.
But, I can still pray for him to eat a lot of high fat hamberders. He'll get fat and develop heart problems, but at least he'll look like his lover, Kim Jong Un. He wants to be like him, anyway. Not on me.

(13,375 posts)It sounds to me like you're onto a few lessons: Focusing on doing a bit of good in some sphere; finding nourishment in simple activities.
Raised bed gardening a good thing.
A friend of mine is finding refuge in baking bread.
These are good things.
Out of burnout with consulting during the pandemic, I started a dog walking business. For days I've been so distracted, running on automatic pilot, not fully registering what I'm doing as I go from scheduled walk to scheduled walk. Now I'm making an effort to notice. To reel my attention back to the simple action of walking. Of noticing. Of connecting with my furry charges. Talk about a lesson in living in the present! Dogs are the embodiment of it.

(13,375 posts)Or so I like to believe.
The moral isolation, which thus naturally and inevitably encompasses the bad man, is often the cause of his becoming the victim of despair.
...
The above is part of a larger excerpt from Schopenhauer's "The Basis of Morality" (On "the radical difference of mental habit between the good character and the bad" ) found in this post:

(7,176 posts)I feel the bile rising up every time I open my computer and see his orange, pocky, fat cadaver face staring out.
I feel like we can survive the attempted implementation of Project 2025, but we cannot survive World War III. That's why I hope Vance is in sooner rather than later. Vance also doesn't have the cult, and should be beatable.

(13,375 posts)Perhaps my threshold is low, but hearing that others have a similar reaction helps.
Unfortunately, nausea for me is associated with what one doctor labeled "atypical migraine" -- to explain unexplainable bouts of nausea (that predate that horrible man). I was even hospitalized a few times as a kid for dehydration after a period of being unable to keep anything down for which no cause was ever found. Whatever my problem is, when nausea is triggered, whatever the cause, it does not end. And seeing that man has become a trigger.

(9,212 posts)Then you can cut down on it a lot. Media should cover as little as possible about him, there is no law that says they have to cover his every move and hate filled crap. Take away his narcissistic supply which drains everyone, at least you can do that for yourself.
Of course they will continue to profit off of a fascist who they helped put into power, who murdered millions of Americans.
Your thoughts are normal imo, not terrible at all.
