Any chance millions of voters got sick of hourly text messages begging for money

Many times for races on the opposite side of the country and promising to match 700%.

They were in the middle of saying to themselves "I swear to god if I get another text asking for.... Hi Jimbo, this is Bill Clinton and we're going to need another five from you to defeat..." and they just said "fuck it" and didn't show up. Replying STOP didn't end the calls and texts but only let them know they had a warm body and a live number they could sell to every single fucking democrat from every district.

Reporting as junk or “STOP” did nothing; in fact as you note it seemed to add fuel to the incessant requests…

I still get one or two since the election here and there however the barrage seems to have subsided.

used consistently to be very effective, even though I made contributions every month. I was only getting 2or 3 solicitations a day by the end.

They are someone who will be supporting me and many others the months and weeks to come. Right now I need to support myself and my friends. As things settle in the circle will grow larger I hope, but I'm honkering down. Penzy's is having organization that deserves our support.

Is there a donation amount I can put in that prevents further requests because I have my checkbook ready.

I would leave the house for three hours and then come back and open up my laptop computer and wow, there were 50 or 60 more. And that's when I hadn't even given any money to any of them since the mid-terms two years ago. When I finally made a round of donations in mid-October — $100 to Harris/Walz, $50 each to the Democratic Senate and Governor candidates in my state, $25 to my Democratic congressional candidate, and $25 each to 15 Democrats running for Senate around the country — those dozens of daily e-mails and texts requesting money for Democratic candidates and causes immediately mushroomed into hundreds. I can't cope with this avalanche of e-mails and texts, but it would also take hours and hours for me to start opening them up one by one and finding and clicking on the "Unsubscribe" button. I'm spending 30 or 45 minutes per day just deleting them all from my inbox. And if I don't delete them, they stay there FOREVER.

After the election I was going to suggest to the Harris/Walz administration and also to my Senate candidate (who lost) and to my candidate for Congress (who also lost) that something be done about this. That suggestion is now moot, of course, at least for the next two years and probably for longer. But I was going to ask them to pass a law that, for example, every online form for donations include a box that you have to check to continue receiving e-mail and text solicitations for further donations. If you didn't check that box, of course, they would be legally required to send you no more donation requests, and it would also be illegal for them pass your name along to somebody else who might also ask you for money. Or if you gave them money, they could not legally ask you for more for at least a week after your most recent donation. Lots of other possible suggestions here, and of course, the purpose would be to keep them from snowing you under an AVALANCHE of e-mails and texts. I want Democrats to have funds to help elect Democratic candidates and causes, but I also want to be not overwhelmed by the texts and e-mails.

But now, I have no representation in the federal government. No President, no Vice President, no Senator, no Representative in Congress, nobody.
