I’m getting too many texts from friends, saying, “are you okay?” It’s lovely of them to ask. But I’m just fine. I can’t say the same for a lot of other people and things.

If I seem quieter over the next few weeks, it is going to be in part because I vowed that after the election, no matter what the result, I’d get off Twitter/X, get my news more directly from news sources (instead of using social media as a newsfeed), and write a book.

But also I’m partly going to be in that GPS app mode: “recalculating route.” There’s more to be done, and we will all figure out what that must be.
