A bunch of phony ass Americans who think they can wave the flag and say they give 2 shits about our Veterans, yet elected a Bone Spurs Asshole, who "prefers people who aren't captured."

(28,836 posts)Using a phrase which we abhor sounds kind of misguided. If we have a problem with Trump saying it, it's not magically any better if we do it, even if sarcastically.
Besides, Memorial Day would probably be more appropriate. As I recall, he was talking about dead soldiers who died in service.
Veterans Day includes both living and deceased veterans and not just those who died in service.

(10 posts)The holiday to me is about the people who served not the people recognizing those who served. Their sacrifices were still made with honor even if our current leadership doesn't think so.

(13,439 posts)to prevent Trump from EVER being allowed entrance into a Veterans Cemetery anywhere America's war dead are buried.
It feels sacrilegious to let that festering boil of puss anywhere near the honorable graves of our past protectors of Democracy.
The GOP just took a giant shit on the graves of our 400,000 war dead in favor of an autocrat who fears water and batteries with a shark over there....

(10,599 posts)So far as I'm concerned, by voting him in, this is Exactly what half the country really believes is acceptable.
The other side will wrap themselves in the flag, pretending they care about Veterans or those currently serving. If they did, they would not have elected someone who refers to them in this manner.
He's a Fucking Phony. Perhaps I should use the Sarcasm tag when using the term, but so far as I'm concerned, this is what America truly supports.
