(172,253 posts)This slot was in OH and there is a "tradition" in the Senate for what they call a "Blue Slip" - which is basically where the Senators from the same state would "sign" for their approval or disapproval of a nominee from their state, since the Senate has the role to "advise and consent" to a President's nominees. And in the case of OH - VANCE.
