Trump has made some promises. Now, he has no excuse to delivering those promises.
The people chose him and his ilk. Now, let them deliver. There is nothing stopping them.
I look forward to watching them fail massively, just like his first term.
I look forward to us making hay out of his failures because they will come, and it will be delicious.
I look forward to the backlash they'll get when his court (yes, Trump's court) revokes the approval of the abortion pill at the request of several red-state attorneys general. (Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they drop their case because they don't want to make Trump look bad... it's been their game for years, create a story to sue Democrats and let it go for a Republican).
As usual, we'll have to come clean their mess.

(14,224 posts)The winning party picks the Prime Minister. They have control. If things go bad, they get the blame. The other party cant obstruct (thanks McConnell) to keep things worse and then blame Dems for it.

More than once Harris had to provide the tie-breaking vote. And at other times the Senate didn't vote in (D) lockstep.
Rather like the (R) "full control" of the House for the last two years. Again, "full control" is rather an overstatement. Narrow majorities give power to minorities within that majority--dissents, if you will. That works whether the majority is red or whether it's blue.

After Carter/Reagan, gas prices hovered at nearly a dollar a gallon for quite a long time.
Those good old, pre inflation days are over.

(23,797 posts)Look I'm sorry we lost the house. Would have helped stop a lot of bad things from happening. But in a way, America is a Phoenix that is going to have to rise from the ashes to move beyond MAGA, and we haven't been burned down yet. Can't rise from the ashes until you have the ashes. I'm not rooting for this, just saying, it's going to happen.
A lot of people are going to suffer.
A lot of people are going to die.
A lot of lives are going to be ruined.
Harris voters know it's going to be bad. The rest are all going to be surprised by what is coming.
I'd love to say we'll learn our lesson once and for all, but I doubt it. Even if we have an election in 2028, and an angry electorate puts the Democrats back in charge, the ruined economy from drumpf's term will carry over, and people will just be mad at Democrats again in 2032, probably. After all, Biden took the inflation crisis that covid created, did the best he could with it, and the voters are furious with him. Fucking infuriating.
But yeah this guy nails it. He knows MAGA isn't going to do shit. All they care about is owning the libs. They have no idea how to run a country.
