What if Gaetz is being set up?

Imagine Trump’s backers want to get rid of Gaetz. So they have Trump announce him as AG with the expectation that Gaetz resigns from Congress. Then Gaetz resigns and Trump does not actually make Gaetz AG. I can see this being plausible, especially if McCarthy is working with Trump.

he resigned from the 118th (current) Congress. He was re-elected to the 119th Congress. So I think he can resign now and if things don't work out, simply be sworn in to the 119th in January. I think.

I just hope he gets humiliated during the hearings, if he even makes it that far.

14. Gaetz resigned to stop the ethics committee from

releasing their report. For all we know he asked Trump for help and this is what they came up with. A fake appointment to cover a face saving resignation.
