(131,037 posts)it won't matter because nothing is highly damaging for GOpers. If Trump's sins and wickednesses that we know about aren't highly damaging enough to prevent him from being elected president, I can't imagine anything short of raping Cub Scouts at a cocaine orgy that would be highly damaging enough to keep Gaetz out of Trump's Cabinet. Maybe not even that.

(69,520 posts)Democrats need to get over the myth that Republicans care anything at all about ethics. Not only do most voters not care, they gravitate toward the entertainment.
Literally, more Americans will support Gaetz for Attorney General when they read about how he drugged and raped children.
Probably our only hope for saving our democracy is to shame the hell out of our Republican relatives and acquaintances. Ask them why they support this and don't let them shift the blame to Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, like they always do.

(6,740 posts)to allow the rest of red don's reprehensible nominees to slide in. Or get recess appointments without GQPee pushback.
Heard this on MSNBC last night (sorry, can't remember who said it)--the sh*tshow surrounding Gaetz and the "courage" of some GQPee senators in putting the kibosh on his nomination will exhaust their will to oppose red don's collection of freaks, so there will be no energy or will to oppose any more.
Gaetz might well be the sacrificial lamb. Plus he needed to resign anyway because of the impending release of the report.
