Once Trump is sworn in, he's going to fire Christopher Wray as FBI Director--Wray was actually appointed by Trump after he fired Comey, but is viewed as insufficiently loyal by Trumpists by allowing investigations to continue against Trump and his circle.

Patel is a fringe ideologue and has vowed to seek retribution against people who are seen as disloyal to Trump. Him in charge of the FBI (under an AG Gaetz, no less) would be absolutely terrifying.
