1. Oh, great. More losers. Rahm Emmanuel? Seriously? Isn't he tired of stealing our ponies yet?

Not forced enough peas down our throats?

Good Gods, the Democrats are done, if this is the best they can do.

3. I would give more credit to Howard Dean

Howard Dean was the DNC Chair at that time, and I believe it was his 50 state strategy that led to the Democratic gains in 2006, and also helped Obama win as much as he did in 2008. Rahm Emmanuel, as Obama's chief of staff, completely sidelined Dean, and the 50 state strategy went away. Rahm Emmanuel is representative of what is wrong with the Democratic Party right now.

6. We also ran the table except for Howard Ford in the Senate races

There were many explanations, but at the root you have the unpopularity of the Bush administration. Some time in mid 2005, the Iraq war was seen as a disaster with people like John Warner speaking of the need for a path out. Then there was Hurricane Katrina.

Much more credit should go to Howard Dean. His 50 state model meant we had good candidates in places that initially were written off by people like Emmanuel. Others who help fund and help people in these reach races were John Kerry and Wes Clark.
