Fox going up 41 percent when it was in first place is horrible. We need a channel that gives the other side of reality. I know some are upset with morning Joe and that’s fine. But punishing the entire channel doesn’t appear to be helpful.

this is not good at all. We were full of so much shock, and rage that we pulled the plug on some sort of sanity and now we will have nothing, unless we tune in again, but the handwriting is in the wall. That is why we have independent sites such as Mary Trump Media, Free Speech TV, Meidas Touch, Robert Reich to support by clicking on the like button.

FOX is celebrating their propaganda accomplishment, and pumping more lies into their viewers.

Did democracy depend on my watching Joe Scarborough, a former Republican representative to Congress who has proven, over and over, to be an un-thoughtful, un-serious person who craves the attention of those in power?

TV News is dying. Newspapers are dying. Young people don't watch TV or read newspapers. They stream entertainment on their phones and laptops. They use TV to watch sports.

Too many voters ignored the obvious problems with Trump and voted for him anyway.

I haven't watched a minute of either since the election and don't intend to. They both siderismed the country into a dark hole and they are no longer useful.

Our side needs new media that is more organic and not corporate controlled. The democracy fell at the hands of a multi decade ong psyop and the "mainstream" media was part of the problem. So people no longer trust MSNBC or CNN.

They have loved him for 10 years, he's their new,. "If it bleeds, it leads."

CNN took a Right turn.

But I think I realized we were in big trouble when it came out in court that Maggie Haberman and Katy Tur were both basically employees of the trump campaign and nothing came of it. This was MSNBC and the NY Times, knowingly printing and putting on the air members of the Trump campaign and passing them off like they were regular employees. It wasn't that long ago that members of the media had to resign if they were found to be involved in a political campaign in any way. When it was barely a blip story, I posted here on DU that we might already be totally screwed and there's nothing that will change it. Rightwing Oligarchs took over the media top to bottom. They obviously had morer than just Tur on their payroll at MSNBC, but also likely some executives and news directors.

Biden did too much for working people for the ruling class to not react, Trump is their reaction, they installed him by any means necesssary. They couldn't have 4 more years of Biden policies or people would have seen more of how these polciies are great for the country.

That's one reason I've stopped going there. Just one more subscription service to pay for. There is now only one site (a local site in Texas that definitely is not giving unbiased news) where I can get the news without it being behind a paywall. I suspect this is one reason many are getting their news from Facebook and other social media.

Yesterday I found an old article, pre-pandemic, on MSNBC host salaries & I couldn't believe the discrepancies!! I hope it wasn't accurate, cuz Katie Tur was one of the higher paid women & Kornacki made more than a lot of the women.

The Magats live for our outrage. They live for our discomfort, as revealed partly by our public responses to the things they are doing, including through MSNBC. They find our misery hilarious, and they see it as some kind of victory for themselves.

I am thinking a lot about "spheres of influence and spheres of concern."

I will concern myself where I have influence. I can't control those people, I have no influence on what those nut jobs are going to do for the next two years at least, so I am going to try to limit my exposure to their nut-jobbery. I can't influence it, so it does no good for me to concern myself with it.

Shit will rain down upon my head, along with everyone else's. But for the next two years, there is little I can do about it. I will react to the shit in ways that protect myself and my loved ones as much as possible, but I'm not going to engage much in the public sphere. (Except, of course, for my addiction to DU.)

I'm just not going to provide them with their sick entertainment.

While I think that what the Morning Joe folks did was cowardly, I never watched MSNBC in the morning anyway.

Outside of his supporters?

I lived through 2017-2021. Where people just discussed the man all day every day, clips, media, flooding every square inch of the internet. And then after he left office, we still had to talk about him all day for some reason? I've had filters in place for all things Trump for going on 5 years now. It's absolutely lovely. Sure, plenty still gets through, but at least my content experiences aren't utterly saturated. (And for those unaware, DU has filter features for keywords. I put every permutation and nickname for Trump in there)

Just because the circus is in town doesn't mean I have to attend.

Reading a few news articles for five to ten minutes gives me enough information for awareness. Hours of overpaid pseudo journalists repeating, opining, and speculating about what I already know sounds so tedious. I imagine it's what hell is like for the slothful. Like a perverse Ludovico's Technique that people volunteer for.

Just a general pass.

I started watching international news recently and the difference is stark. I've watched it before, just not regularly. The difference in content, vocabulary, quality of information and details is shocking to the system at first. I mean US based TV reporting is like they are talking to a brain damaged 12 yr old. It's actually embarrassing how simplistic and repetitive most US based reporting is.
It really does feel like we are on the decline.

Those in the fox bubble are in a bad place because it is not based on facts, it is based on stoking fear, hatred and cult like dedication.

Unfortunately, fox is very persuasive to a lot of people. It's like a legitimized tabloid. It will be hard to get those people away from it, especially without a bunch of equally satisfying options.
