This country needs a serious makeover. If we're not going to hold the upper classes to the same standards of justice, there is no justice.

The government made a deal with him that he complied with. Then they prosecuted him anyway. You and I may not have liked the deal, but a deal is a deal.

Hunter Biden was almost exactly the same in terms of the fact that a deal was made and Hunter complied. However, in his case, the judge wouldn't agree to the deal, so it was never consummated.

This is quite a lovely false equivalence.

Or do you actually believe that, were the Smollet jurors publicly identified, they would be subject to threats and calumny?

I honesty believe that Trump could have someone he believes to be an enemy publicly tortured and beaten in the White House, and no one would do a thing.

Justice was served at the trial. Honorable people did the hard things. The rest of the system collapsed around them.

The case has not been dismissed; but Trump is allowed to argue that it should be. (It shouldn't, I think, but even the worst criminal has procedural rights to a "day in court" on various issues, etc.)

Just clearing that up. Thanks.

another lesser justice system for the rest of us.

Speaking of AGs, how are NY AG James' attempts to get Donnie and sons to pay up doing? Or Ms Carroll's defamation judgements? Will they also be "postponed" - i.e., shoved to a time when Donnie is not president (I think he'll either succumb to natural causes or deteriorate so badly that his family and cabinet can no longer ignore it). In other words, once more he gets off scott-free.

His co-conspirators were sentenced to prison time for conspiring with him to do that.

But he will probably either just get a probation or sing kumbaya before that.

That's not equal justice for all.

And I came to the conclusion that each jury or jurors should sue the US Govt for obstruction of justice. I haven’t figured out the basis yet but I feel there is one. It is a form of false imprisonment. It is arguably obstruction of justice.
