This is why I love America

Liberty Enlightening the World

"The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was designated as a National Monument in 1924. Employees of the National Park Service have been caring for the colossal copper statue since 1933.

There have been great moments in our short history and there have been some dark clouds and we've had a couple of colossal fuck-ups as we are about to endure again in the next 4 years.

As always though we are resilient in our ability to weather storms.

This too, shall pass.

I'll leave you with this: HOPE.

We certainly don't want to tempt any poor souls into the hellscape that will be America until we can get ourselves back on track.

Enjoying this cold front that moved in yesterday. I am also preparing to decorate this holiday season for the first time in 18 years. It's been a slow process for me.

I hope you have a great holiday season.

I know he doesn't have the 'rights' to do so. But it is totally within his "bull-in-a-china-shop" modus.

Hope is a four letter word to those who would undo our two hundred and fifty year old democracy. Don’t let the bastards take it away from you.

“Hope is the thing with feathers,
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all..”
