I've been trying to process November 5th and my mind just can't make any sense of this debacle.

Right now, I am embracing tRump Detachment Syndrome because it is my only way to hold onto a modicum of sanity. I won't read anything having to do with this revenge filled frothing at the mouth madman or any of his sycophants who knowingly are following him down the rabbit hole that leads to dictatorship. I have shrunk my world down to my family and friends in order to mentally and emotionally survive.

I've been trying to make some sense out of what transpired on November 5th and no matter how I look at it none of this makes any sense to me.

I am distraught because I've reached the conclusion that the majority in this country are bigoted hate filled misogynistic racists who prefer a ruthless dictator to democracy.

The only hope I will express at the Thanksgiving table this year is that I hope I am wrong and that someone will be able to convince me that this shit hole country is worth fighting for. Right now, I don't think it is and that leads me to the disquieting conclusion that at my old age we will have to find another country where we can live out our remaining years in peace.

Just this week our neighbor to the north said if Netanyahu were to set foot in their country he would be immediately arrested for war crimes. What a difference from this fucked up rat hole that is slowly turning into GiIliad.

I have always fought the good fight by standing up for American Ideals, but those Ideals no longer exist here, so my choice seems clear - stay here under the boot of an authoritarian or go someplace that holds dear the idea that all of us are created equal and that the people should rule.

It is really hard to believe. My confidence is not strong and that is all I can say about that. Interesting that my fundie neighbor just called to see if we had any tilling that needed done while they had it on the tractor. It’s almost like she got the memo that neighbors need to stick together in these crazy times. Maybe it’s that she had baby killer signs across from my vote Democratic. Abortion rights are health care rights sign this fall…… and last. I’m not hopeful for things as I know we have many low functioning people in our state. ( unfortunately my neighbor is not one of them. One is a doc, the other has a masters in who knows what) That is by design….I have to remind myself. Being drowned in tRump nonsense, hatred, nastiness, and scowling countenance is fatiguing. He's the guy you want to slip away from at a party. He's cruel, evil, chaotic. He wants to be a dictator, but to do that you need subjects. That's not me, and that's not you.

I don't blame those that flee to safety. It's hard to think how to get rid of his rule. It isn't just the next four years of decay he will bring. It's getting rid of him and all his ilk at the end of his second and "last" term. They won't go quietly. But, they have to go. We don't know how they rigged the election. But, if the election is not rigged, we have a lot of public education to do. I think a primary need of humans, and any animal, is to be free. We are losing ours, but we will always need it. So will MAGA.

I despise Trump et al. To me, they are the Fourth Reich ramping up. We will see. We have better people than the TP. Maybe we can outsmart them.

do not figure out how to annihilate the hate media ( am radio hate, Sirius xm hate jocks, Fox Noise, and all the pundits that get equal time on CNN spouting absolute lies) this experiment is lost.

I read perhaps well meaning members of this board go on and on about how they will never use those sorts of low brow tactics to succeed. What is low brow about telling the truth? These guys on hate media take one tiny fact and blow it utterly out of context.

Then the “liberals” do not correct the lies- because perhaps there are too many of them? Exceptions being Pete and a few others.

Without a real presence on talk radio and something akin on local television, and local newspapers the popular culture has clearly shifted into the exact place the planners of this cultural takeover set out to achieve in the mid ‘80’s when they began funding Rush Limbaugh.

The ridiculous focus on using campaign finances to fund tv ads continues to fail. It leads one to the conclusion that the old school Democratic Party operatives are knowingly wasting funds - for what purpose? Their belief that tv adds make a difference? When the whole electorate has been primed by decades of propaganda that has resulted in this cultural shift, there is no chance that they can make a difference.

It is actually pathetic, along with being heartbreaking.
