If you haven't seen it, there is no time like the present. It gives you some idea of what a "Christian Reconstructionist" America could look like. Its pretty awful. I know some people think its a show for women, but its for everyone. And it seems more relevant than ever.

(23,200 posts)There were 5 seasons on Hulu, and a 6th will be released in 2025.
Its disturbing, but its well written and acted.
Big Blue Marble
(5,708 posts)I saw it. It followed novel very closely while the series expanded the
premise considerably.

(5,708 posts)And the series got far more attention especially after Trump's election.
Not sure It is a good time to watch the series right now, way too anxiety
producing. There will be enough of that in real life events.

altho I was glad when apparently-massive numbers of young women discovered the movie.
I HIGHLY recommend either or both to all. The future is now.
I have seen bits and of pieces of it here and there. Im not going to watch it. Its not something Im interested in and I dont need it to tell me anything that I dont already know.

(1,791 posts)At any rate, you might find the book in a library, somewhere. That's were I first read it, not long after it was published. I knew immediately that some day the premise would come to pass, and here we are.
One thing I'd like to point out is that most men were killed, if they couldn't escape. The rest were either in on it, or put to work as slaves, along with infertile, ugly or otherwise disruptive women. So, these men who seem to think there's a place for them in this new, anti-woman world? Yeah. There isn't. Sooner or later, you'll be deemed disruptive, unnecessary or otherwise removed. Can't have those not worthy wanting fertile women for themselves, now can we?
