When I first joined Twitter, my feed was boring as hell until I found a list on DU where our members had shared their handles. Once I hooked up with other DUers on Twitter, that's when the magic started to happen. I'm hoping this thread will work likewise so we can find one another.

As far as dogs go. I think they’re awesome dogs. They do tend to be vocal, although my first Aussie was super laid back and only made noise to alert me to things. and choose what you like. And a lot of the larger, more well known accounts have "starter packs" where they list suggestions of who to follow. The link to their starter packs is usually pinned at the start of their page. Once you click on the starter pack, you can then scroll through it and follow who you like. There is also a directory (from CNET):

As of when this is published, there are more than 86,000 starter packs, and more are created every hour. You can browse the directory and search by keywords to find specific groups.

Once you've got a solid following list, I recommend looking at your favorite accounts to see who they're following, resharing and talking about. That can also help you make sure you've got a well-rounded feed.

I used Twitter as a news source, and I'm doing the same with Bluesky. Reporters/correspondents/media are starting to move to BS, and they break their stories on social media first. That doesn't happen on DU. The breaking news we get here is generally first noticed on X or Reddit or Substack or alerts we've personally signed up for, and now BS. There are important voices on social media that aren't posters in our community. How else are we to find content to share here? When I share stuff with my DU family, it is because I want to hear their thoughts on the issues at hand.

I see these two sites as radically different. That said, I share your concern for DU, and I hope to live out the rest of my life as a part of this family.

When I share stuff with my DU family, it is because I want to hear their thoughts on the issues at hand.
