We need to discuss Murc's Law

(x-posted from another site)

I think the matter of Murc's Law needs to be discussed more often.

Like, WHY is it that the phenomenon of Democrats being treated like we're the only people with agency in American politics so widespread that there's an actual name for it?

WHY is it that Republicans, the media, corporations, foreign leaders, etc. are so often treated like they really just can't help what they're doing, and that only Democrats can stop them, and if they do something evil it's our fault for not stopping it?

Day after day, it's "Well, if Democrats had done X, this wouldn't have happened" and "It's all Democrats' fault for not stopping them from doing this thing" and I've been sick of this for as long as I've been politically aware BUT ESPECIALLY NOW.
