Is Trump trying to tear down economy before he takes office?

I heard this morning that auto stocks are dropping because of all the threats about tariffs and courting high inflation.

Does he want the stock market lower so that when it rebounds, he can brag about how he saved a terrible economy from Joe Biden?

He spouts tall tales about caravans of migrants on their way to the border so that when they do not materialize, he takes credit for stopping them. That is his MO.

Most of his waking moments are spent plotting and conspiring.

The truth of the matter is that he is inheriting a pretty good economy from Joe Biden and if it tanks while he is in office, he will be the next Hoover, his worst nightmare. He is just incompetent enough to bring our country to its knees.

Look how he got Jeff Bezos and Joe Scarborough to kiss his ring. The markets look to the future and he—and his tariffs—is it.

It turns out they only have power if you surrender it to them.

He has the attention span of a gerbil and he's interested in only two things: money and revenge. He doesn't understand tariffs; he thinks he can use them to punish other countries and he doesn't care what the effects on the economy might be. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if he took bribes or other favors from US importers in exchange for tariff exemptions.

he isn’t president, but he can say things that companies fear will hurt their businesses. His handlers may be encouraging him to come out and say these statements.

Are falling because they can not sell the cars on the lots right now.
This has been building for MONTHS now, layoffs have begun and talk of shuttering plants considered.

Tariff talk is fuel to the fire....but there are larger problems baked in.

He’s a big factor in that fear. Plus, people understand that he will not fix any of the other factors. So, yeah, fear of the future

90k for a pick up truck seems obviously problematic. People can't afford it even if they wanted it.
There are certainly several contributing factors at play.

Bottom line though is that ALL THE BLAME go to trump and Republicans regardless the actual reasons.

There’s not enough time.

Trump will again inherit a strong, robust economy from another Democratic president.
