They are straight up gas lighting you. They want Democrats to not use their power to the fullest for good. Yet, they quietly acquiesce to Trump and the Republicans when they use their power to the fullest for evil. We do not live in an era of norms, customs, and politeness. We live in an era of fighting for power and using that power to its fullest.

(44,738 posts)Trump is cruel because he knows not of love and caring and kindness. Because he is the leader of the Republican Party. Because he is working hard to ensure those in his party do not turn against hm. Because he knows Putin will. In a heartbeat.

Its the best way to understand the thinking on the Right.
The Bulwark is a YouTube channel I subscribe to.
Now, the so-called liberal voices who are criticizing President Biden can fuck off. Theyve been wrong about nearly everything the projected. Useless.
The last think I want is an echo chamber to live in. There are some who definitely want that.

(4,263 posts)Because Democrats would not mount a Grand Inquisition for such an offense. Which was only made possible by years of demonization and political targeting of family members - again Democrats would not do that. Maybe now they should.

(5,545 posts)lie about drug use when purchasing a gun. No one goes to jail for this alone. A third of Texas and Florida would have prison records were it not so.

(5,545 posts)The rest is either obfuscation, misinformation, misunderstanding, or flat out lies.
Hunter Biden was charged with lying about drug use on a form to purchase a gun. Literally millions of people do this every year. No one goes to prison for this alone.
Hunter Biden was charged with not paying his taxes in full. Before he was criminally charged he had paid his full tax bill, with interest and penalties. People are not imprisoned if there is no intent to evade taxes.
What matters is that Hunter Biden was criminally charged not because of lying on a gun purchase, or for evading taxes. He was charged because he was the son of a Democratic president.
It doesn't matter if you think that anyone who lies about drug use on a gun purchase form or who mis-states taxable income, even though the taxes were later paid should be imprisoned. In real life it doesn't happen.
