Former Nixon lawyer John Dean says Biden should pardon anyone that Trump has stated to target when he returns to power

DO YOU AGREE WITH JOHN DEAN?

Former Nixon lawyer John Dean says Biden should pardon anyone that Trump has stated to target when he returns to the White House. This includes Robert Mueller, Jack Smith, several federal judges, the Obamas and Clintons.

Biden already showed his hand by giving Hunter a pardon. He knows that Trump is going to weaponize the criminal justice department to destroy dissent in this country and destroy opposition.

He needs to boost the immunity of reporters and those who tried to fight the good fight, if we're going to have anyone left to fight this battle.

I sincerely want to see every one of these people pardoned.

Kash Patel's enemies list was posted here a day or two ago.

There's a second guy who has flown under most peoples' radar: a former Green Beret (he claims--I find only "Army reservist" ) named Ivan Raiklin. Earlier this year, Raiklin declared himself the "Secretary of Retribution."

I've been unable to locate a complete copy of Raiklin's list. He claims there are more than 300 names on his list. Incredibly, it contains the Capitol Hill police officers who have testified about the events of January 6, 2021. His modus operandi will be to rely on "Constitutional Sheriffs" to help him round up people on his list.

Donald Trump’s self-proclaimed “secretary of retribution” is touting a wild plan to arrest politicians, police officers, and journalists he views as disloyal to the former president, according to a sweeping new investigation by Raw Story.

Conservative political activist Ivan Raiklin claims to have assembled a “Deep State target list” that includes high-ranking Democrats and Republicans, U.S. Capitol Police officers, officials at the FBI and other intelligence agencies, witnesses in Trump’s impeachment trials, and journalists at The New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post, and other news outlets. Their supposed crime? Being Trump’s political enemies. And Raiklin views himself as justice incarnate.

It's hard to tell if Raiklin is a General Flynn-style nutcase just blowing smoke or someone Trump could possibly rely on to pinpoint "enemies."

I would like for as many of these lists to be made public, so we can assess exactly who they intend to persecute.

Pardons should also include Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Jaimie Raskin, Alexander Vindman, Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, Joe and Jill Biden, Gavin Newsom, Daniel Goldman, all the military officers involved in Afghanistan withdrawal who Trump is targeting, probably many other people. and anyone on Kash Patel's.

While I surely agree with the sentiment expressed in this thread, just think how the same approach would be used 4 years from now. Massive criming followed by blanket pardons equals no hope of accountability for any of their illegal actions.

Are we totally giving up on being a lawful nation now?

I believe the answer to your question would unfortunately be an affirmative. Once they gained control of the judicial system, we no longer were a nation of laws administered and judged impartially. We're now a failed state governed by what can only be described as an organized crime syndicate. You're also assuming there's a possibility that our democracy still exists and they would peacefully relinquish power if the citizenry determined that a change was necessary through a free and fair election. I believe that such an opportunity may no longer exist. They've been planning this hijacking of our democracy for decades and, now that they've achieved their ultimate goal, they're not going to squander it without a massive struggle.

John Dean is exactly right.

When someone has said what they are going to do and it is wrong and evil, you have a moral obligation to try and stop it.

These folks on the "enemies" list were not on a "witch hunt. Trump and his gang of misfits and criminals are up to no good. If Biden can stop them with a blanket pardon, then he should do it.

In another time, under different circumstances, it would have been wrong to pardon his son. However, this is not one of those times.

17. He should pardon everyone
Tue Dec 3, 2024, 02:03 PM
Dec 2024

Everyone in this administration, and in all prior administrations with living presidents. Perhaps a proclamation of pardon for any and all offenses during their periods in government service. Trump included. Restart the clock. Oh and before I forget - the Supreme Court justices.

Then he should consider pardons and commutations for everyone convicted of a federal offense. There may be some exceptions but clearing out the potential pardon petitioners removes a massive grifting opportunity (probably already exercised) and emptying out the prisons gives Kash something to worry about and work on once his plans are cut short.

this to show how easy it is to abuse the presidential power to pardon. If you think what I'm doing (and what Trump did in his first term and intends to do in his second term) is wrong, then when the Trump regime takes over in January, CHANGE the damn law to give Congress the power to veto presidential pardons with a simple majority vote and with the vote taken secretly so that the cowardly Republicans might actually find a conscience and a spine and vote against pardoning drug dealers and Russian agents and violent criminals!"
