Puberty blockers for trans kids are reversible.

We aren't talking non reversible surgical procedures. These are hormones that prevent certain sexual characteristics to take place. For a lot of trans kids these are the answer to make them feel right with their bodies. It can help keep trans kids from suicidal ideation or other self destructive behaviors. It is REVERSIBLE!!!!! I can understand not allowing surgical procedures on kids 16 or under. I don't agree, especially with counselling and parental approval. But, reversible puberty blockers? OMG! Let these kids feel OK within their own skin!!

If a trans person stops taking these because they live in a red state hell and puberty kicks in, then the Transition can become much harder.

I have a trans niece on puberty blockers. If she were to stop taking them, her secondary male characteristics would develop which would make transitioning later much more difficult. How quickly, not quite sure. But once it starts, it goes quickly.

Her doctors were very clear. If she wants to go back to her original gender, she would just stop taking them. But if she ever stops taking them, it is a thousand times more difficult once the proverbial horse is out of the barn.

4. If it saves her life

It is worth it in the long run. I have zero idea of what happens in a trans kid's mind/body/soul. I just know that if it causes you pain, fix it. Try anything to make you feel OK.

I've never felt anything but a cis woman. But, my wife, what we call a butch, has a very different experience in her life. I just want people to feel comfortable in their own skin. I don't want kids to feel suicidal. I've been there. Thank goodness I survived.
