Below are the comments about the assassination of the UHC CEO on freeperville, free republic, no love lost

"Every penny they spend on his funeral is a penny that was taken from someone who was suffering because the insurance company refused to pay.
I think Health Insurance and Pharma leadership is starting to get the idea that they are as popular as herpes. Maybe they should quit being predatory reptiles?"

"Poor innocent CEO? Hahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahaha *gasping for breath* hahahahahahahahahahaha"

"He was THE man responsible for unmeasurable human suffering, bankruptcy and death, as he denied justified claims to insurance his customers paid for. He was under investigation for massive insider trading. He made money off tranny surgery."

"I’m not the type to celebrate him getting murdered. But he was a scumbag and his callous decisions lead to getting gunned down as he was walking into a meeting to brag how his depravity was raising the bottom line."

And for the finale with irony:

"You should read the comments over at DU
Disgusting"

Ask them if they'll support universal healthcare without private insurers. If they will, we have an opening. Silent Type Dec 2024 #1

a public option for Medicare. If you like your shitty United Healthcare then keep it. If not, here's a better option.

Biden never pushed it, nor did Harris.

Maybe if we get huge majorities in House and Senate, but can't imagine that happening anytime soon.

Sorry to be glib but his ilk deserves it. No one deserves to be murdered but....

Other than one remark there, I'd say most here and there are in total agreement. It's true on every site I've seen. This might be the most unifying moment in this divided country.

when a business is run on tight margins that actively make decisions every day that harm the politician's constituents, they should take notice.

For Profit health care is unethical. (And in my opinion, immoral.)

But, UHC had almost $390 billion in revenue with under $304 billion cost of revenue.
That's a 28% margin. I'm not willing to call that a tight margin. After SG&A, they still had a 10% total margin. That, of course, includes all depreciation which is a legitimate expense, but doesn't involve cash.
So, they were "harming the polticians' constituents" to lower the cost when they were already running on reasonably strong margins.
The margins don't appear to be the motivation. More likely, we can pin it on competitive greed.

that there is a strong and shared sentiment that health care companies are NOT looking out for the best interest of their clients.

I don't condone gleefully laughing about the murder of their CEO.

But what's apparent is that there is negative sentiment toward the way healthcare is run in our country, and we need a talented politician with strong passion and ability to move the needle to capture the zeitgeist before the Republicans do.

Maybe some good could come out of this shit show.

Also, don't do murder.
