How low will ABC go? One of its correspondents just

breathlessly informed us all that "many parents in Newtown are having an early Christmas tonight."

Not one mention that this society is so completely and totally fucked in the head. That message wouldn't mesh with the ABC\Disney message of schmaltzy SHIT!

society is truly fucked in the head. KCAL9 which I switched to now had a reporter on wondering whether things we say on Facebook and other online forums will need to be more closely scrutinized.

Gawd, and this from a member of the supposed 4th estate.

Sure, let's start spying on people's thoughts and expressions. Let's double down on our failed strategy and surely it will work. (See the Surge in Iraq for more on how this sort of logic operates.)

They start reaching for something to say and it comes off horribly.

They need to slow down, be considerate and repeat or update any facts.

I can't listen to the coverage because most of it sounds so trite or misses the mark completely.

I don't think some of the commentators mean to be trite but instead come off sounding that way by trying to find some other way
to say the same thing over and over making a mess out of their statements. There are those that just don't land well nd those that don't even attempt to edit themselves.

So yes, in some cases I am being charitable.
