This Trump 2.0 is getting sickening. Many of the most well-known multi-billionaires are falling over themselves to kiss Trump's ass (I don't use the cleaned-up word, "ring". Mica and Joe, the LA Times, the Washington Post (Bezos) and now ABC,
What the fuck. George Stephanopoulos used the word "rape" to describe the finding in the civil case involving Trump and E. Jean Carrol. They had very little chance of losing that case. A sitting judge described Trump's actions as being considered rape in the true sense of the word. Trump digitally violated Carrol. By any measure, that is considered rape. Trump was found responsible. He is a highly. visible public figure. Arguably the most visible. The only reason to settle was because of fear. The admission gives the other side another talking point.
It just makes it hard for people like us, with marginable wealth at best, with limited platforms, to compete with those who control so much. I'm not saying anyone should just give up. What I am saying is that it is disheartening, and we are swimming against the current. It does seem that courage is lacking in any of these powerful places.

(72,217 posts)Greatest moral collapse in US history.
On the part of American voters, those who voted for a rapist traitor or didn't care enough to vote.
US Congress and US Judicial system.
The US media.
US billionaires.
Everyone either aided and abetted the crimes and moral collapse or folded like lawn chairs.

Lies and propaganda did much damage to those who can't deal with reality/truth.

(5,756 posts)Rape in NY law is very specifically defined. That does not meet the specific definition under NY law. ABC News (or their lawyers/insurers) realized this.

Defamation, by definition, is based on public opinion. You could never be convicted by using the same words that a sitting judge used describing the same event.
ABC would have never lost in court. They caved out of fear of the oncoming dictatorship.
Digital penetration without consent IS Criminal Sexual Assault, our legal term for rape.

(10,074 posts)Democrats, then losing seats in Congress in 26, imagining the anger of Republicans and Independents when they catch on to Trump and me laughing about it - drip-drip-drip. Day after day. Then him dying on the toilet eating a McDonalds hamburger in a few months. Also, it would be nice if Rupert Murdoch keels over and his liberal kids take over Fox News, etc and his favorite network turns on him.
