We are getting new gun laws

Gunners deal with it. No one's going to forget those 20 kids like they do every other shooting. This is not going to blow over.

Go bury them, then. The civilized part of the human race has had enough of your fetish over a device created specifically to snuff out life. Go find something else to worship and fondle. People have the right to walk down the street without being embedded with bullets. People have the right to raise their children instead of losing them to gun-welding, life-hating cowards.

are right, he seemed really pissed off and upset about this bs. I think he will at
least make an attempt to do something this time. This bs if you take guns away only criminals will have them don't wash, the shooter today probably wasn't a criminal until he decided to murder a bunch of people.

And how many shootings? And so far, nothing.

Frankly, I'd be amazed if much of anything got passed in the next few years. The GOP wouldn't allow it in the House, and a lot of Dems in the Senate are from states that require them to strongly support gun owners.

The President, no matter how much he's outraged, can only do so much.

We have done it in the past. Prohibition and then the repeal of prohibition comes to mind. I'm not saying repeal the whole thing, but I think we need to better define what is allowed and what shouldn't be allowed for a more secure society.

When you give up freedom for safety...you end up with things like the Patriot Act. We are now less free and no more safe than before.

So go ahead...give up your freedom. Give up your liberty. It won't change anything. It won't make you any more safe.

The terrorists on 9/11 used box cutters.

That Colorado cinema shooter had his apartment filled with homemade bombs. If he didnt have guns, he would have thrown explosives in the theater.

Understand that if someone is determined enough to do harm, they will find a way to do it. I assure you they will find a way no matter what the government tries to do.

Look at the serial killer in Norway, Anders Breivik. In a country with some of the tightest gun control laws in the world, he was still able to kill 70+ people.

These people are PSYCHO! They are not going to sit back and say, "Well, the government wont let me buy a gun. So I guess I can't kill those people." No...he'll sit back and figure out another way to do it.

Banning guns will not stop violence. That's the point Im trying to make.

Im not saying to sit back and do nothing. But this problem goes beyond any law that can be passed. It has to do with mental health. It has to do with America's obsession and desensitivity with violence. These are cultural problems that far more complicated to fix.

Passing a gun ban isn't going to stop people who want to do harm. The only way to stop these people is to stop what made them think this way. Many of them are mentally ill and have been for years. Many violent criminals were involved in gangs or grew up around violence, and now stuck in poverty. Things like this are the roots of the problem that no one wants to talk about. Banning guns simply attempts to treat a symptom. But it won't cure the disease.

And statistically according to the FBI, gun violence has been decreasing for years.

It doesn't take a lot of planning to kill 30.

It's also a hell of a lot harder to go nuts and knife to death 30 people in that short of a time period.

If you want to play with a gun like a fuckshit, you can do it in a place with people as equally stupid as you are. Let the gun be kept at the gun range or at a hunting armory out of the city, and make it a crime punishable by death to let an insane person get one.

Have a gun buyback program as was done in areas of Africa after the bloody post-colonial wars. They were administered by the UN and gave people good useful shit in exchange for a gun.

iPhones for guns. That would end it right there.

No massive raids needed.

I doubt he will risk his NRA endorsement - he wants to be reelected.

I tell you what will happen - just like after VA Tech the NRA will be given a place at the table to ensure that something actually get passed and to give political cover to repukes and blue dog Dems. They will pass a bipartisan measure that tightens up some perceived weakness in the present gun laws. They will not address the AWB. I am willing to bet on it.

But I would not hold my breath waiting...

Already the shooter is being painted as being crackers (as in crazy). Some states with already tight controls might ratchet them up, but I would expect no action at a Federal level or in many states.

that the gun was stolen
Or claims people are just giving into emotion
Or some other bullshit excuse.

The other side doesn't care if 20 children are murdered.
All that matters is that nothing comes between them and their toys.

The trigger is their bill of rights.

There have been seven mass murders with guns this year, a record.

Anyone who offers bullshit excuses simply doesn't care.

Democrats need to do something or they are part of the problem.
