(44,580 posts)This is a young woman who takes all the misogynistic attacks directed at her, and they are numerous, and vicious, and throws them right back. We need more like that.

(13,954 posts)Do ye remember how you stabbed Biden in the back by trying to make him step down? Yes, Aoc is a bit spicy for SOME of the gray hairs, those same gray hairs whose stifling of leadership left us vulnerable, and some of whom voted trump in the warm safety of the election booth, then went and had a cappuccino with their liberal friends. The same ones that in a previous decade, shouted "party unity my ass!"
Do not get me wrong, I find the antics of the self-described "real left" annoying. I am watching gladly as Cenk, Ana self implode, and I am not as fond as the rest of the "squad." But truth be told, we have to realize that while the old recipe worked in the Clinton years, we need stronger stuff now, even if it does have that democratic socialist aftertaste. If you do not like it, then please remember two things"
Every candidate that is too weak or comprised to fight will make it easier the GOP to deny your medical care.
Two: as much as some of you crow about fighting for your daughters and kid sisters, stop it. YOU DON'T. If you had the means to drain Gen Z of their remaining years to ad to your own, you would, and you would rationalize it using tropes like "millennials ruin everything" or "Gen Z uses phones too much", even though a lot of those things were survival mechanisms they made they that they would not become discarded and wrecked the way Gen X was.
Some of you ae going to have some COLD, DARK winter years.

(17,979 posts)Connelys statement about the FBI Wray resigning and exposing the remaining personnel to a Trump purge conveys the exact expertise and messaging we need. Who gives a crap if hes in his 70s. At least hes not bad mouthing other Democrats over useless drama and picking fights with the lowest common denominator RW slimes likes Marjorie. This is such an unnecessary phony infighting display. Again.
SocialDemocrat61
(7,473 posts)over useless drama? Are you referring to those who pushed out President Biden?
Thankfully AOC was a big supporter of the President when so many in the party were not.

The win was forecast a day earlier, when the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee voted to recommend the seat to Connolly, who has a decade more experience than Ocasio-Cortez on the powerful committee.
The non-binding Steering vote lent a symbolic boost to Connolly, 74, but his victory was ultimately decided by the full Caucus, which huddled behind closed doors Tuesday morning in the Capitol basement and voted by secret ballot to give him the coveted seat.
Connolly also got some help from former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who endorsed his bid and lobbied actively on his behalf in the lead up to this weeks votes.
