About 6 in 10 Republicans approve of Kennedys appointment to Trumps Cabinet and only about 1 in 10 disapprove, according to an AP-NORC poll conducted in December, while the rest arent familiar with him or didnt have an opinion.
-snip-
Kennedy doesnt fare as well among Americans overall, with about 4 in 10 U.S. adults disapproving and about 3 in 10 approving of his appointment.
Although Kennedy is a member of one of the most powerful Democratic dynasties in the country, most Democrats said they dont like that hes been named to Trumps Cabinet. About 6 in 10 Democrats strongly disapprove of the pick, the December poll found. Thats a higher share of disapproval than other high-profile picks such as Pete Hegseth to be defense secretary or Marco Rubio for secretary of state.
His anti-vaccine stance isnt broadly popular.

(9,784 posts)He is against over processed food, harmful chemicals in the food etc and against pollution in general. This is WAY better than you can reasonably expect from a Republican cabinet pick. Of course you are taking a chance he could try to stop or reduce vaccinations, which would be a disaster. Also banning fluoride in the water would not be a positive. At least hes a mixed bag and not terrible on every position like a typical R.

With Kennedy the glass might be only a quarter full.

(9,784 posts)a Republican HHS leader against HFCS, weird unnatural dyes, cancer and obesity causing foods and chemicals? Usually their main job is to fast track that to school lunches and make sure to cover up how all this is making us unhealthy.
Yeah, rolling back vaccines is definitely problematic and the quid pro quo of his even getting nominated is a little gross, but at least hes advocating *something* I agree with!
