(3,831 posts)Via traffic cams, witnesses, etc. Maybe cell records but unsure on that. They also said there's not a reason to think he had foreknowledge of Trump's visit that day, and that he'd been tracking Trumps activities. When Trump is at Mar A Lago, he often plays at Trump International (or at least, he did). Dude's gear could've been hidden in those bushes for weeks, actually. He also could've been camped out at that spot every day that Trump was located at Mar A Lago during that month he'd been nearby. He'd also, long before, written that he wanted someone to off Trump. So, the idea this was some false flag, or he was tipped off, or any other shady conspiracy theory, as usual, did not pan out

(34,560 posts)He wasn't trying to kill them. Just commit an act in things/places associated with them.
If he was trying to kill other people, then it would be consider an act of terror. The people would have been people at the hotel or on the street would have been the targets if any were killed.
I thought the cybertruck exploded on it's own. It is NYE and it's entirely possible the fireworks, were simply for partying and it was a freak accident.
I guess more will come out in the investigation.
Until a motive is determined and other possibilities are ruled out, police are treating the explosion like a possible criminal act and a possible act of terror. Evidence collection and investigation are ongoing.
I think they're still determining the cause of the explosion. Was it intentional or just a freak accident?

(3,767 posts)And the video shows it. If you have a wide open container the blast just goes to the path of least resistance. Also since the fireworks didnt go off all at once it probably wouldnt cause that much damage no matter what truck it was.

(29,981 posts)Angela Chao, CEO of shipping company Foremost Group and sister of former US cabinet secretary Elaine Chao, died after her car became submerged in a pond on a Central Texas ranch last month, according to the Wall Street Journal and a report from Blanco County Emergency Services obtained by the Austin American-Statesman.
Chaos Tesla Model X SUV went over an embankment and into a pond when she put the car in reverse instead of drive during a three-point turn shortly before midnight on February 10, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Emergency workers arrived on the scene 24 minutes after receiving a 911 call, but due to the terrain and accessibility, the crew had to walk to the location of the pond before they could begin attempts to rescue Chao, according to the incident report from a Blanco County first responder.

(77,006 posts)I don't think the burn rate is high enough to actually push enough gas to call it an explosion.
Rapid conflagration; perhaps.
Can't really tell from that video, but there was no clear shock wave, and the back left side of the car didn't obviously deform.
That suggest black powder. They're reporting fireworks. I'm prone to accept that as teue.

(34,560 posts)They appear to be carrying coolers, which I assume would be for a party. But they're wearing a mask, which isn't exactly party attire. Person appears to "get away" or at least attempts to get away. 7 were injured. They don't appear to they have anything to do with cybertruck.
The person who died was in the vehicle, so this is just bystander.
However, they don't know the gender of the person who died????
There is one deceased individual inside the Cybertruck and I dont know whether it is a male or a female at this time, McMahill said.
Seven other victims sustained what McMahill described as minor injuries as a result of the explosion.

(2,739 posts)Especially given the professional wrestling gimmicks that seem to live vicariously through Trump - there is always another absurd event, something that excites the cult, something that he can use to demonstrate to his followers that portrays him to be legendary or a character of folklore. His admirers eat it up.
I mean honestly, they showed the bed of the truck. There was a gas can, some camp stove fuel, and fireworks. Come on! Someone has enough resources to plan and initiate a stunt like this, but can only think of getting some gas and firecrackers? Christ, at that rate he probably had to start smoking cigarettes so that he would be able to start a fire
