Probably costs as much as a house while all those electronics would be suspect.

I'll keep my ancient 4runner.

For twenty years last spring. It still has shiny paint, no rust and everything works. I am finishing up a mild restoration this month, really looking forward to it.

I hope I never have to buy another car, ever.

Other than that, everything can be replaced or rebuilt and that thing will indeed run forever.

Enjoy!!

The best thing I've ever purchased. And it will last forever. There's a guy down the street with one just like mine, even the same color only his has about 100K more miles and is riddled with rust and dents. Makes me feel good about all the care I put into mine, which was easy since it's not hard to take care of.

I enjoy it every time I climb in, the seat is about 8" higher than my fanny, and it feels like my favorite pair of walkin' boots.

Knew Spudlette was a keeper when I first set eyes on her.

I've ever owned. I've had a Volvo, 2 VWs, Currently a BMW and this 4runner. I'll be whittled down to the 4runner soon, I hope.

Toyotas run forever if you take care of them, they run a really long time even if you don't.

They say that if you trigger the floating mode, you are required to return the car to the factory for a "thorough check."

If they're planning to sell it in the US I can see a couple of problems with that. First is that, unless they set up service centers in the US, you'll have to mail your car back to China every time you drive through a deep-enough mud hole. The other is...you KNOW people will want to tow boats with this car, and it'll be hard to do that if you have to ship the car off for inspection every time you decide to take the boat out.

You see more Chinese EV’s than anything! The infrastructure is growing rapidly as well.

The Chinese also invest in public projects and they are winning the PR here in this beautiful country.

Last time I was down in 2005 the roads/bridges down to & up & down the coast were horrible.
Back in the '70's when I lived there they still had a working train system around the country, it was cheap & easy.

Influx of infrastructure has been done in the last decades. China built them a huge stadium and paid for lots of stuff.

This would kill all their American counterparts.

At a lower price point of course.

But the brand, in general, would kill the rest.

They have other great vehicles at better prices.

That Chinese electric vehicles might very well be the entire reason for Musk’s sudden interest in politics.

Among the very many conflicts of interest that he has.

Especially ones that make absurd claims, like moving through the water while floating by spinning its wheels. And especially as people become more aware of carbon costs of extra vehicle mass; mass that provides features that typically go underutilized.

Where did all of that go? Do we need a missing person milk carton campaign?
