Republicans in general care less about people than Democrats. Just look at their agendas.
Republicans are all in as "God fearing Christians", but that's not how they act. Actions always speak louder than words.
It's not so much about the party, as it is about the kind of people who are attracted to the party.
This isn't about the politics, it's about the people who think in a certain way when it comes to politics.

Well researched facts are fundamental to reality-based debate and governance. I know MAGAs and even many other Republicans are unwilling to engage in reality-based debate or governance, but I keep faith in people independently rediscovering the benefits of the scientific method...I mean, it happened once before.

Governing without the relevant statistics tends to result in a lot of "Something must be done about this problem...this is something, so let's do it," without regard for whether "this" addresses a significant part -- or even any -- of the stated problem.
