Nancy Pelosi should have let AOC be ranking Democrat on the house oversight committee. Yes AOC is on the progressive side. We need more young people in leadership in our party. Old Democrats need to step aside.

(9,628 posts)But here's the thing... we must NOT allow ourselves to slip into agist bullshit. Age and experience matter when dealing with complex issues.
BUT it's also true that folks need to know when it's time to pass the baton. If we aren't actively buturing and promoting leadship in the younger generations, we will be left with a talent and experience vacuum. And I don't think political leadership is necessarily a place where seniority should dominate.

(34,246 posts)But the middle squishy politicians who do not understand that we are going to have to fight hard to save this democracy and we are adhering to Roberts Rules of Order while the other side is wiping their ass with said rules. I have no problem with someone who is older taking the lead as long as they are giving what they get.
