To put the Trump Doctrine into English,
"It is the responsibility of powerful nations to tend to the needs of the people of the world by assimilating their territory into the powerful nation's territory."
The US should by (take) Greenland, and Mexico, and Canada, since those countries are incapable of meeting their people's needs.
It also means Russia should have the Ukraine to help those people.
America should sell Alaska to Russia, since Russia is a better leader than the US.
China should reclaim it's lost territory for the good of the People.
Every bit of Trump's polices seem to be lock step (literally) with the goals and dreams of Putin.

(60,320 posts)Canada's health system is imperfect. There is a shortage of doctors and some wait times are longer than expected.
Bottom line: Canadians live longer healthier lives at half the cost per capita.

(114 posts)Did you know my post was about how Putin seems to be dictating Trump's policy statements and it was not the Canadian health system?

(60,320 posts)You imagined tRump's thinking (well enough that I responded supportively) and thus you wrote:
as a tRumpian "point" (fake factoidal gaslighting).
So I responded with US healthcare vs Canadian (since as you referenced is prominent in tRump's current attacks) to make the counterpoint that yes, in some areas of little importance, those countries are capable of meeting their peoples needs. Thus it supports the thrust of your OP by illustrating how stupid, ridiculous, and gaslighting his thinking is. I guess I should have been explicit about all that for you, though I did use in the Reply Title for reference back to your OP the same framing and word you used (countries "incapable" ) for capturing tRump's thinking.
The counterpoint to tRumpian thinking does not attack you or your conception of his thinking.

(114 posts)Okay. However, have you considered the ramifications of a US policy that advocates the taking of nation's territory by force or threat, especially when it aligns with the goals of Russia?

(60,320 posts)My profile shows I am Canadian. You know, the country under sustained attack from DunceOld. Have I thought? I have wondered if you are a serious person, I've thought about that.

(114 posts)There is an underlying theme to Trump's policy statements and that is Putin's interests seems to be dictating Trump's policy statements.
