Laken Riley Act - Senators cleared the first vote 84 to 9, with 33 Senate Democrats

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/5076638-senate-laken-riley-act/

The Senate on Thursday overwhelmingly cleared a key procedural hurdle toward passing the Laken Riley Act, a bill aimed at curbing crime by migrants, in the first vote of the year by the chamber.

Senators cleared the first vote 84 to 9, with 33 Senate Democrats — including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) — joining with every Republican present to vote “yes.” The legislation would mandate federal detention of immigrants without legal status accused of theft, burglary and other related crimes.

“The Laken Riley Act presents the Senate a simple choice: Are you willing to allow illegal immigrant criminals to roam free in our country? Or do you want to save American lives?” Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said on the Senate floor before the vote.

“Protecting Americans from the dangers of a broken border makes sense to most of our citizens,” he added.

Thursday marked the first step in a string of votes before the bill could become law. Senate Republicans are expecting a number of amendment votes on the item next week.

and if they cannot prove citizenship ( and birthright is now questionable ) they get "detained" without even a court hearing pending deportation to someplace ( even if they have no "home" country ).

I really hate this shit.

Hold them for as long as allowable by law, then ship them to sanctuary cities and bill the sanctuary city for the repuke "services."

New bill proposal in TN outlines it all:

(TN is always 2 steps ahead of the govt of pootin.)

It's also going to create wholesale a legal minefield where Attorneys General of one state can sue another state whose disposition towards immigrants they disagree with. There are so many fake Trump judges already in place to issue stays, injunctions, etc...

33 Senate Democrats. This is shameful on so many levels. There isn't any "open border" problem and there isn't any threat to the dogs and cats of the people who live in Springfield, Ohio, and if those dogs and cats - and even the geese! - are safe from this imaginary threat, then I certainly think the "American people" (read: white people) are safe, as well.

This abject surrender by Democrats is much more disturbing than Trump's election win. It cripples attempts to mount any effective opposition and places us all at enormous risk.

Can be accused of the crime of being here illegally. Therefore all immigrants without legal status can be detained.

The camps will follow.
