Seeing all the damage and devastation in Los Angles.........what are they gonna do??

I can never imagine what they all will do……no homes, no cars, no stores, no post office, no police, no hospitals, how do you even begin…..my heart just aches. I give to the red Crosse, but it’s just a little, on a fixed income. I am just sick for them and think of all the people that lived through the floods and destruction earlier this year. How do you continue?? How do you move forward?? My heart just breaks.

If you are referring to Altadena, it isn't a city, it is an unincorporated place. It is fairly small as LA suburbs go, population about 42,000. Large parts were destroyed, but much of Altadena remains intact.

Portions of Pasadena have also been affected, but much of this larger( pop about 140,000) remains intact.

Pacific Palisades is a community within the City of Los Angeles. Much of this community has unfortunately been destroyed, however adjacent communities in Santa Monica and Los Angeles are intact and provide services including lodging.

Specific areas are devastated, however the effects are localized. Those with the financial means to do so can find lodging and services while they rebuild. Many homeowners have insurance to help with rebuilding. No entire city has been devasted.

giving (fairly specific) information? All the poster is saying is that it is a mistake to think (or purvey as fact) that the greater part of the metropolitan area has been burned out. The situation is clearly serious and grievous enough the way it is. It somehow needs to be worse?

But we should seriously prepare since there will be many affected by this that aren't wealthy in the future.

That will be more difficult.

Some people who have rented long-term have lost everything too and are going to find it hard to find affordable housing without having a long commute to their jobs.. A lot of school teachers are now homeless. At least one public school with a lot of children from low income families has burned.

me also. My Niece and her son had to evacuate from Brentwood.. I have no idea yet about how their home is.

Just reading everything I can on the Devastation and Hoping for the Best for all those who lost their homes. 💙

That's what people do.

Myself, I've never been in any kind of disaster, so I realize I haven't a clue what it's like.

People are strong and resilient.
