I wish I was in the luxury home construction business...

Just the "Billionaires Row" in Malibu will take a Billion Dollars to rebuild.

5000 houses in Pacific Palisades... high end real estate.

Californians are going to be thankful for the IMMIGRANT laborers and skilled craftsmen to rebuild.

But damn... the trades will be insanely busy for the next decade.

A lot of those Malibu homes were older wood frame... newer stuff on Malibu is concrete and modern design...

A lot of California insurers screwed over homeowners... and the others will be wrecked financially.

I'd say 9/10 were Hispanic... I didn't check their paperwork but I suspect many were here illegally (based on discussions).

Quite happy that we protect them here.

And they're good... the drywall guys, painters, flooring dudes... roofers and masons... top notch.

The median home price is over $4M

Hate to say it... the Middle Class in SoCal is a rare beast.

It's the well off and the service workers mostly.

I was one of them. The fire took out every mobile home in the mobile home park that I lived in for 10 years. It's not just rich actors that lived there.

I moved about 30 years ago, but it's gut-wrenching to watch how much of the town has been destroyed.

Widespread damage, collapsed freeways and the city was up and running again within a few months.

On the other side of PCH the elevation puts the view line above the beach houses.
