(8,595 posts)For the most recent one (Kenneth) apparently a "person of interest" is being questioned.
Would not surprise me at all.

(34,852 posts)Someone pulls over to the side of the highway and there is a bunch of dry grass under the heated vehicle and it starts.
Fortunately, they are quite visible and extinguished quickly here.

(11,036 posts)A few months ago we had a person out here in NM starting fires. Started about 5 fires in a week.
With all the homeless people in California - it could have started with a fire built to keep warm or to cook.

(3,223 posts)...claimed that the Los Angeles fires were "God's judgement". This was on the "Drew Mariani Show", this afternoon. As you might guess, Drew Mariani is a real piece of work. He's been trafficking in this kind of garbage for a couple decades now, and this is just par for the course.

(3,223 posts)In actual fact, this was not just Falwell; Pat Robertson was also there, gleefully nodding in agreement with him. I think this was on CBN, Robertson's "news" channel, the night of 9/11. They blamed "the gays, abortionists, secular humanists, the ACLU"...etc. All the usual suspects for the religious fundamentalists.

Dinsel was asked directly if he believed the fire was set intentionally, and he said: 'At this time, that's what we believe. Yes.'
He said there was no clear motive, adding that the area is now being 'closed off' for further investigations.
Sources told DailyMail.com that a resident called 911 to report a male attempting to set a fire at the 21700 block of Ybarra road at around 4.30pm.
