Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump's nominee to be the next Secretary of Defense, has refused to answer whether or not Hegseth, as Secretary, would follow an unconstitutional order given by Donald Trump.
This line of questioning was brought up during a back-and-forth with Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin who asked Hegseth whether it was possible for a President to give an unconstitutional order, and if so, whether he, as Secretary would execute one given by Trump.
In response to the questioning, Hegseth dodged giving a full answer and simply repeated the fact that in his opinion he did not believe Trump would give an unconstitutional order.
Hegseth's refusal to answer a simple question is concerning and reflective of his qualifications to lead the United States military. If the Secretary of Defense will not refuse an unlawful order from the President of the United States, then the American people are left with one less person to check the President's power.

Like Trump wanted to do with Mike Pence on 1/6.
So if you are not going to follow Trump's illegal orders, don't take the job.
