They were and are deplorables

I used to feel sad and disappointed in America, but now I’m just disgusted. I’ve lost all faith, trust, and hope in this country. It is a cesspool of racist, selfish individuals. Hillary Clinton was right when she called them “deplorables,” and Joe Biden wasn’t wrong to label them as garbage. They were criticized for speaking the truth, but that truth still stands.

The problem is these individuals have always been coddled, portrayed as “concerned Americans” worried about their country. But the reality is, they’re selfish and harmful people. And now, they hold positions of power—in Congress, the Senate, the Cabinet, the judiciary, state offices, law enforcement, and more. That’s what makes it all the more disheartening.

2. Watched the Hegseth hearing yesterday.

Stunned that only one round of questioning was permitted by the chair. The R's appear to be in complete thrall to his Lardship.

3. They also think they are special in some way

I’m not referring to the Bible thumpers. Most of these folks cannot imagine how mass deportations and tariffs will hurt them.

The heart of MAGA is ignorance, I believe. The majority of my MAGA family do not read - anything. Their views are informed from Fox and the pulpit. Take transgender kids. The majority of Americans fully support banning these babies from sports. They believe a third of child athletes in the country identify as trans. The fact is out of 500,000 or so NCAA athletes only 10 identify as transgendered. That’s right 10.

They don’t see the big thorn at the middle of this shiny object and that is a parent’s right to consent to medical care for their minor child. More erosion of our basic rights wrapped up in a shiny ball.

4. I still recall seeing a "I'm a Deplorable" bumper sticker on a pickup back in 2016.

No doubt, had Hillary called them "white trash", they'd be riding around with I'm White Trash bumper stickers. Come to think of it, with Trump's garbage truck stunt, he has experience as a trash collector!

5. You are not alone, I feel exactly the same way.

It might as well be a different species (the GOP) their view of life is so different than mine. I constantly hear that we have more in common than we think....no we don't, other than I have to eat, have enough money to sustain myself and my family. Other than our worldview in totally different. The one term that you didn't mention that I find most have in common is - narcissism. They literately do not care about anything or anyone other than themselves. ☮
